Texas Public Information Act training presented by the Texas Attorney General's Office from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. This free session will include the basics of the TPIA and recent issues relating to it. Please register to reserve your space.
TPIA-Cost Rules [+] FREE
This training session focuses on the cost rules associated with the Texas Public Information Act. The Texas Attorney General's Office will lead this free session from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Please register to reserve your space.
Texas Open Meetings Act [+] FREE
This session on the Texas Open Meetings Act is from 1:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. It will be presented by Houston attorney Joe Larsen of the FOI Foundation of Texas board.

The Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas presents Open Government Seminars throughout the state on the Texas Public Information Act and Texas Open Meetings Act. The May 1 seminar takes place at the Harris County Attorney's Office, Conference Center, 1019 Congress St., Lower Level, in Houston.

The Texas Attorney General's Office will present a free session on the Public Information Act and associated cost rules from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The FOI Foundaton will present the Open Meetings Act session, which is also free and lasts from 1:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.  There will be a break for lunch between the morning and afternoon sessions. Lunch is on your own.

Both the TPIA and Open Meetings Act sessions qualify for state-certified open government training for public officials, accredited through the Attorney General's Office. Attorneys attending these two sessions can qualify for State Bar of Texas CLE credit. District and county clerks can qualify for state-certified training credits for clerks.
